DC Universe Animated Original Movies Part One

Alright in honor of Dwayne McDuffie's this post is all about the DC Animated Movies. The first one I saw was the Batman: Gotham Knight. Now there are ten of them out and two of them in the works. The first one I am going to review is Superman: Doomsday.

Superman: Doomsday is loosely based off the popular 1992 - 1993 "The Death of Superman" storyline. Just like the title says its Superman vs. Doomsday. Well it's a fight to the death and which in turn kills both Superman and Doomsday. Now, I'm not a fan of Superman but I have read the "The Death of Superman" and it was very good. The movie is a bit different, note when I said loosely based, the writers, Bruce Timm and Duane Capizzi had to change a few things. I would really read the comic before watching the movie.

The cast was all star, then again with Andrea Romano doing the casting its going to be. Adam Baldwin as Clark Kent/Superman/Dark Superman. I really think he pulled it off as Superman. Lois Lane was played by Anne Heche, from what her wiki page tells us she was in Everwood and Nip/Tuck, well okay then. James Masters as Lex Luthor, and John DiMaggio (Yes, Marcus Fenix and Bender) as Toy Man. Kevin Smith makes a cameo as the 'Grumpy Man'.

Release Date: September 18, 2007

(This is a line break)

Next is Justice League: The New Frontier based on Darwyn Cooke's 2003-2004 graphic novel DC: The New Frontier. Alright from what I can tell you without giving away everything all the heroes have to come together to save the world from something called The Centre. Alright, I've seen this movie and read the comic like ten times and I still half the time get what the hell is going on here. I know at one point Superman gets his ass handed to him. That was awesome, but then again I'm not really a fan of Superman.

Go Andrea Romano for getting an awesome cast. At one point it was the battle of deep voices. I was upset that Kevin Conroy wasn't Batman, but Jeremy Sisto fits in this piece as Batman. You will never hear me say that out loud.
